Frequently Asked Questions
General
Every guest checking in MUST provide government issued identification (with photo) along with a valid credit card for the reservation file. Failure to provide this information will result in being turned away from the Hostel.
Valid Identification includes: Passport, Driver's License, Permanent Residency cards, Citizenship cards. Health cards are NOT permitted. Photocopies or photos are not accepted.
If the individual paying for your reservation will not present with you at the time of check-in, a Credit Card Authorisation Form must be completed.
Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. If you arrive early, you can drop off your luggage at the hostel’s front desk. Early check-in is available for CAD $20 at the discretion of front desk staff and management and is subject to availability. Neill Wycik Hostel is not responsible for loss or damage to items placed in storage.
Departure time is 11:00 a.m. Neill Wycik Hostel does not permit late checkout. The hostel can provide luggage storage free of charge until 11:59 p.m. the day of your checkout. After your checkout day, there is a CAD $15 charge for each bag/luggage stored every 24 hours. Neill Wycik Hostel is not responsible for loss or damage to property placed in storage.
The hostel has complimentary Wi-Fi in all rooms and common areas. You can receive access at check-in by visiting the front desk.
Yes, our property has 4 elevators. However, please note that we are not a fully accessible building. For more information, please contact our Front Desk.
Unfortunately, Neill Wycik Hostel is not accessible. Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) does not require private residences to be accessible.
Yes. Each room is accompanied by a desk and chair. Please note that only overhead lighting is provided in the room (no beside/desk lamps).
Neill Wycik Hostel does not provide parking. We recommend visiting the transportation recommendations listed on the hostel home page for assistance in finding parking. Neill Wycik Hostel is not responsible for theft, damages, availability nor price discrepancies when selecting a parking location.
Pets are strictly prohibited at the hostel.
For single rooms, one guest is permitted. For twin rooms, two guests are permitted. Each room is accompanied by single beds that accommodate one person as per Toronto Fire Code.
The Hostel does not offer an extra bed; the maximum number of occupants per room is specified in room descriptions.
At this time, Neill Wycik Hostel does not provide discounts to any organization.

For all reservations, unless explicitly articulated by email, are bound to the Hostel’s 48-hour policy. The 48-hour policy comes into effect from the time of check-in (4:00 p.m. EST). For example, if your reservation is for May 10 at 4:00 p.m., then you must cancel by 4:00 p.m. EST on May 8.
No, Neill Wycik Hostel is strictly non-smoking. Smoking is permitted on the 23rd floor roof deck and outside on the street (nine meters from the entrance). Anyone caught smoking on the premises will be fined $500 CAD, have their reservation cancelled without refund, and be evicted from the property immediately. Smoking includes cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, vapes, and anything else that may be reasonably considered smoking.
Hostel rooms are not equipped with a safe. You may request temporary secure storage for passports and other small items at the front desk when you are not on the property. Please inquire at the front desk for more information.
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is the closest airport followed by Toronto Pearson International Airport. Please visit the Hostel’s section on transportation options for further information.
The nearest TTC subway station is College Station (Yonge line) or TMU Station (formerly Dundas) (Yonge line). We suggest using College Station as it is typically less congested than TMU Station.
Neill Wycik Hostel is open from May through August each year. We do not provide accommodations from September to April. Specific dates are subject to change. We recommend visiting our website in late autumn or early winter for availability.

The Hostel accepts Visa, Mastercard, and debit. The Hostel accepts CAD and USD cash. USD is accepted at par. All cash transactions are non-refundable.
All guests must have a valid credit card on file for incidentals. If you do not have a credit card in your name and are using someone else’s please submit a Credit Card Authorisation form prior to arrival. You can download the form here:
Yes, subject to availability. Please visit the front desk and notify a Front Desk Agent of your extension to ensure you can stay in the same room. No extension is guaranteed to remain in the same room. If you need to change rooms, you will need to checkout at 11:00 a.m.
Breakfast is served daily from 7:00 a.m. through 11:00 a.m. in the Café on the ground floor. Breakfast consists of five items. Additional items can be purchased.
Neill Wycik Hostel does not have air conditioning, but does provide guests with a fan in each room.
Guests are permitted to drink in their private room and within the common areas inside their unit.
No open alcohol is permitted in the hallways, stairwells, common areas, and roof decks.
Guests found violating this policy could face a $1,000 CAD fine and removal from the property without a refund.
Neill Wycik Hostel does not have cribs.
Each room comes equipped with linens, a towel, toilet paper (bathrooms), a bar of soap, a disposable plastic drinking cup, desk, chair, bed, and fan.
Yes, Toronto tap water is safe to consume.
While the kitchens are used by students during the school year, the Hostel does not provide cookware or dishes to guests. Guests are permitted to use the facilities if they have their own equipment and supplies. The café does not have equipment that can be borrowed or rented.
Neill Wycik Hostel provides housekeeping between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. with turndown service (cleaning the bed) only by request. Please speak to the front desk about all other housekeeping requests.
The hostel has a strict 1 person per bed policy as per Toronto Fire Code. Guests are permitted to have visitors during the day. Visitors must provide government-issued ID to security every 24-hours. Guests are not permitted to have visitors between 11:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
